Day 24: La Franca to Llanes

Unlike yesterday, the morning was clear and bright and sunny



There's the next hill ahead! It was a steep but pleasant walk through the woods

The sea came into view on the other side of the hill

After Pendueles the camino rejoins the main road

The road runs alongside the Picos de Europa which have to be crossed if one wishes to visit Oviedo

The tramp alongside the road was not over-inspring but at least it was flat!

Occasionally it was possible to take advantage of the old camino running parallel to the main road





Eventually the camino left the road (top)

A pleasant path up through the wood led ...

to a very pretty part of the camino, running parallel to the main road into Llanes

The camino climbed up to the summit of the hill of Jorcada to reach the Ermita de Santa Christo del Camino on the outskirts of Llanes
