 The Church of the Franciscans in Aviles. The Franciscian order came to Aviles between 1267 & 1274 |
 The doors are carved with symbols of the cross |
 The Church was open for Mass |

 At the top of this path the route had been destroyed by road building and I completely lost the arrows ..... |
 .... but fortunately found them again |
 Unexpectedly the weather changed and there was an incredible downpour |

Shell, book and staff as opposed to bell, book and candle! This was a welcome sight for a weary, waterlogged pilgrim! |
