Day 47: Labacolla to Santiago de Compostela

This was the earliest start so far because I wanted my first sight of the Cathedral to be at a quiet time

The door is only open in a Holy Year, when the Feastday of St James (25th July) falls on a Sunday. The next Holy Year is 2010










At some masses (including the Pilgrim Mass), the huge crucible of incense is swung over the pilgrims and almost touches the high ceiling (above & left)
