On the road to Santiago - an outline film script

Introduction

In the summer of 2002, the Xunta de Galicia in co-operation with the Fundacion Aranguey promoted a film script competion "Camino de Xacobeo 2004"

The regualtions provided that film scripts could be in any format (real image, animation, infography, etc) and of any genre (drama, comedy, horror, musical, etc) The theme of the scripts was to be based on one of four aspects
  • The Camino de Santiago (Camino Frances)
  • Other roads to Santiago
  • Jubilee Year 2004
  • The influence on Galicia of the pilgrimage to Santiago
The outline film script was to include:
  • Brief synopsis of the story
  • The plot, reflecting the subject, structure and course of the story
  • Introduction and brief description of the characters
These are presented on our film2 page
  • Dialogues correcponding to two sequences of the film
This is presented on our film3 page
  • Description of basic locations for the development of the story
This is presented on our film4 page and pictures of most of the locations are given on our overview page

The winner of the competition was Paula Cons Verela whith her work named "Ideas Peregrinas". While sorry not to have won the competition, we have included our entry in this website in the hope that it will help aspirant pilgrims to understand some of the human aspects of this great journey.
