Rob Steele's walking notes As I was working on a 2 week timeframe and based the route on a return flight o Santiago de Compostela, then took a bus, first to Oviedo, then toVillavicosa where the route starts. I left Santiago de Compostela on the 08.30 bus which arrived in Oviedo at 1400, then caught he 14.30 bus to Villavicosa which arrived there about 15.15. After getting off the Alsa bus it was Great to stretch the old legs and walk the 9k to our first nights halt, the Monastery at Valdedios. Picking up the route at The Iglesia de Santa Maria and leavingVillavicosa on a well signed route, taking care to make the left turn off The Camino Norte and onto The Camino Primitivo after 3k at Casquita. Very Pleasant start to the Camino, walking through small villages and gently rolling landscape to Valdedios | |
